A project i did for class that i am quite proud of. the assignment was to do a 5 hour contour of a shell in charcol pencil and then wash it with ink. You can still see trases of the contour through the ink wash, which has turned into more of a painting at this point, but is still quite nice. Oh, and the paper we were useing was the best thing ever. I must have erased the surface twice before painting, and then put down a dozen layers of color, lifting several of them with tissue and starting over. If ou can belive it this pice started off as hot pink and yellow, and was under threat of becoming muddy several times, but the paper came through for me and has no buckles whatsoever after letting it competly dry. as it should, considering it cost 6 bucks a sheet.
This isn't the first time I have been given this assignment, but that was 2 and a half years ago, and frankly, it sucked. It has been a thorn in my side for ages now, and I'm glad I've gotten a chance to redo it. I'm amazed at how far I've come since then, and that makes it one of my favorites.
2B charchole pencil, various higgens colored ink, Pelikan brilliant green, Pelikan opaque ockor (can't spell it proparly) and white, Suma black, Arches paper (made in frace. their symbol is an infinity sign.)
The photo is raw, but it's still fairly close to the original colors.
Nice, really nice. Looks very realistic...you've outdone yourself again

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
I'm a lover of visual impacts. I like brilliant colors and shapes. And I decided to collect a whole stack of deviations that reflect that taste. These pieces showcased below deserve every bit of publicity you can give them. x)P
